Code: Select all
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/06/us/politics/russia-cyber-hack.html
they make pycharm

The tool under suspicion is TeamCity ..

Is this politics or do I have a russian trojan on my mac?

I always thought Jetbrain folks were some hard working Czech geeks ..

Re: jetBrain maker of pycharm

If you use my plugins, they are just ascii files. So those should be fine.

Question to Matt and Jay: is there a way you can check if your executable code is kosher? Or do you not use jetbrain tools?

I don’t allow other systems that have access to my systems ( Amazon google tv ... )
This is a principle that I am not willing to give up.

Eak. Here is JetBrain's response. I wouldn't venture to guess how it all shakes out. Thus far at least PyCharm hasn't been implicated / mentioned.

We've used PyCharm only (not TeamCity) for python development, but like you the output we is source .py files which we know are not compromised. We carefully track all changes to source files with source control and thus know all source code changes that are part of the project, so I can confidently say Indigo is not compromised.
