iOS shortcuts

I am trying to setup several shortcuts that use the same ipnumber. I would like to use a variable to set the ip number once. Then use that variable in all other shortcuts.

I have been trying to do that for a day or so but can’t figure how to do that.

Has anyone done this?.. and how?

Karl.

Via the clipboard, or likely more useful, via a file (like Dropbox or iCloud, etc.)

Re: iOS shortcuts

looks like iOS shortcuts do NOT have persistent / global variables..

But here is what seems to work:
A)
1. create a contact "ip" with last name = 192.168.x.x
B) in shortcuts:
1. contacts: select specific contact (ip number)
2. ssh: in hosts field select details of contact = last name
.. fill out userid, password and command

then there have several shortcuts with different commands

here the iPhone screen shot

Re: iOS shortcuts

more more comment:

it seems that shortcuts do not re-read the input apps, ie when changing the contact info the shortcuts continue to use the old info.
Even deleting the contact does not change the behavior of the shortcuts.

Using file info seems to work fine. When files are deleted , the shortcuts fail, when recreating them they work fine again.
So here the version that seems to be working well...

Although it is a little difficult to create a file in the shortcuts folder - first get a file editor. create the file with contents 192.162.x.x , then use files to move / copy the file into the shortcuts folder.
