Re: sd images

The date in the name should be the indicator when it was created.

Just use the last one.

But do not upgrade on your own !!!

The Bluetooth will stop working. It is high on my prio list but I need 2 full days straight to dig into it. Some libs need to be in sync ....

Re: sd images

That’s an indication that the ssd might be bad.

Re: sd images

An update on SSD versions

the 2018-04 version seems to work on ALL rpi

upgrading to the latest 2018-11:
== works on RPI2 ..
== but not on RPI3+ ... don't have a RPI3. - tried in 2 ways: (A) upgrade from 2018-04 and (B) a fresh download of 2018-11 same result.
--- the bluetooth._bluetooth python lib seems to be not working. No data is returned when using it in python - also no error message.
--- the command line tools (eg hcitiool) work fine..

so for the time being continue to use the 2018-04 stretch version.. this might take some time.

Re: sd images

SSD for RPI3+

.. adding an external BLE dongle seems to make it work.. something wrong / different with internal NEW rpi3plus BLE 4.1 chip ..

Re: sd images

just published a new SSD and plugin that work with latest raspberry stretch . (fully upgraded w sudo apt-get upgrade ... on dec 08, 2018)

BUT the RPI3plus has issues. you need to add an extra USB BLE dongle/ stick

otherwise it seems to be working fine.

so if you don't have problems, no need to upgrade your SSD/ opsys image

one nice addition is to be able to delete an RPI completely from indigo, device and internal tables. if you wan to eg reuse or replace an RPi ...
and the RPI will now be created when you define it in initial setup, no need to wait until the first iBeacon message arrives from the RPI

sd images

For the rpi3+ you need an extra dongle ~$10 - for the latest ops sys.
rpi3 has a different BLE chip. it has issues running in parallel w wifi. here w wifi you also need an extra BLE dongle, but only for BLEconnect

rpi1 2 3 run on latest opsys wo problem.

Really don’t know what to do.

Ble5 has no advantage as the iBeacon are very simple BLE 4 devices.
