Beaming

In just about to move from Veraedge to indigo.
I was checking the list of supported devices. I mainly have Fibaro switches but also have a couple of quibino switched.
I noticed that quibino switches don't support beaming but Fibaro do.
I don't actually know what beaming is!

Can anyone answer that?

Re: Beaming

I by far am no expert but to my knowledge beaming is part of the protocol and is used to communicate with battery devices when sleeping.

Devices will send out a beam and periodically sleeping devices will wake looking for beamed communication. If it doesn't see anything it will go back to sleep. I also read somewhere that beaming is used for devices like locks.

Someone here may be able to give a more in-depth explanation of what it does.
