I'm finally ready start my home automation journey. I've owned Indigo for a couple of years now, installed it on an unused older iMac and installed 2 Wave dimmer switches in my kitchen. I have set up the 2 devices and can manually turn them off and on from the application. This is hardly a complicated use case for the experienced but I am just starting out and quite frankly am lost. I apologize for the inexperienced post in advance but I'm sure here are many other members who had to start somewhere aa I am attempting.
To start my journey I was thinking that a practical starting point would be to install a Zwave motion sensor as a device and somehow set up a simple situation where the kitchen lights would tun on when someone enters the kitchen. A second progression would be to turn the kitchen lights off after some duration when a person leaves the kitchen. I'm thinking a third progression may be to only turn the lights on in he kitchen only if they are deemed necessary depending on the ambient light level in the kitchen when a person enters the kitchen in the first place.
Could any of the fine members f this forum point a lost sole in the right direction to start this journey? Any recommendations on the hardware I should consider? I'm certain that this simple scenario will "turn the lights on" to further development of my Home Automation journey.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
