[ANSWERED]: Help with FortrezZ water / temp sensor

Hi,

I hav 10 FortrezZ sensors model number WWA-01AA installed. They are all included in the network and properly trip the alarm if a leak is detected.

The manual indicates that they should also report temperature too. None of them do this. In the Indigo device list, they all show 22 C, regardless of the actually temp. I put one in the freezer and I put one in a 50 degree garage. they still say 22 C in the list.

I set the wake up time to 30 minutes. nope.

I looked through the log file and noticed that there has never been a temperature report from any of the sensors. I know there is an option to hide temperature reports from the log, this is NOT set.

On the FortrezZ support site, there is an FAQ where the question was asked about this model of sensor reporting temperature and the answer was
Yes, but only if the controller is set up to request the updated temperature reading when it receives the 'wakeup notification' from the WWA01 / WWA01AA. In order to use the WWA01 / WWA01AA for reporting temperatures that change often, a short wakeup interval time is necessary (with the attendant reduction in battery life).

Does something need to happen on the Indigo side to enable this?

Here is a profile of the sensor:

Help with FortrezZ water and temp sensor

I'm not sure, but try editing your device and setting it to poll the device every x minutes, instead of the default which is to poll when activity is detected.

(Note that's not the same as setting the wake interval)

That Status Polling UI isn't shown/available for this FortrezZ module since it is battery operated.

I just modified the device definition for this module to send a temperature sensor request whenever the module wakes up. Email us if you would like to try this updated version.

Email sent. Just in case you haven't seen it...

Hi Sean,

I didn't see your email come through. Did you send it via the form on our home page? If not, can you try via the form?

Re: [ANSWERED]: Help with FortrezZ water / temp sensor

Matt,

Would it be possible for Indigo to show the battery level of the WWA01AA in the Device Details window, like Indigo does for other battery controlled devices, such as the FGFS111?

The Indigo log does indicate battery level of the WWA01AA.

Thanks,
MJC

It should show that currently, I believe. Can you re-sync it (after you wake it) and then copy/paste your Event Log results of the sync into a reply for me? I'd like to see if it is reporting that it supports the battery command class or not. Also include a screen grab of the device details area for me.
