email scan authentication failed

Hi,
I searched on the error in the subject above but I get no answers to my particulars. I had been running fine but then I changed ISP provider and now Indigo does not send emails and I get the error above in subject. My mail provider is Hotmail. It does provide for POP and SMTP.

Do I need to port forward? My ISP is now AT&T from Timewarner. Could someone please help?

Thanks

Re: email scan authentication failed

The error you mention is for scanning (not sending) and it means that the authentication credentials that you entered aren't being accepted by the server. You'll want to verify that you have all the settings correct - specifically, the port numbers and the security (SSL) settings.

GMail has recently implemented application-specific passwords. I don't know if Hotmail is doing that or not but it might be worth doing some searching on their site.

Re: email scan authentication failed

Thanks Jay, I will look into it !

It is both ways, it is not able to scan emails and it will not send emails to me when alarm triggered.
