Hello,

in my current setup I have only one WUnderground device, called Weather, then, from it I read out all the values.
Is this the correct usage of the plugin or am I missing something?

Thanks
Marco

Hi Marco,
I guess it depends on what you want to do

When you create a Weather Underground device, you can choose from different models (device Type) e.g.: Astronomy, Hourly Forecast, Satellite Image Selector etc etc.
You can have any number of different devices defined.

So in answer to your question, you could possibly be making more use of the plugin (if you wanted to). :)

Right. It's all about options.

I have two Weather Devices created. One for my home and one for my workplace (the weather in the two places can be considerably different.) I also have created at least one instance of each additional device type for use in control pages, triggers, etc. and also to help ensure that the plugin is running smoothly as a whole. There are also some (thankfully few) restrictions. For example, Weather Underground presently only provide Tidal information for North American locations (it might even be U.S. only, I don't recall off the top of my head.)

One benefit of having individual Weather Devices is if you would like different settings for each location--for example, one location in Fahrenheit and another in Celsius.

Another example is Weather Devices provide for 4 days' worth of forecast information whereas one can get additional information from the Hourly Forecast device and Ten Day Forecast device types.
