Honeywell API

Looking for thermostats for a new house and was looking at this thread. I noticed there is a page on the Honeywell site where you can request an API:

https://honeywellhome.force.com/lyric/apex/Answers#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_SEARCH_RESULT&id=906E0000000TXRuIAO

Don't know anything more about it than that... Would potentially be interested in the Honeywell thermostats but not if you have to try to keep up with webpage changes (not criticizing the plugin - just that an API is so much more reliable...).

thanks,
Aldon

I've requested the app several times to no avail. Honeywell is not sharing with the masses at this point - in fact I don't know that they have shared with any developers.

Looks like they recently came out with APIs.

"We have an update for you! We are pleased to announce the Connected Home open API program for the Lyric and Wi-Fi thermostats. This is open to individuals and organizations. You can take a look at it here: https://developer.honeywell.com/. Thanks!"

Having just bought a Honeywell Evohome it'd be great if someone came up with a plugin! I'd love to give it a go if someone can point me in the right direction

Damn, shame it only applies to the Lyric

Interesting. I'll be following this since I've got a Honeywell wifi model. Unfortunately, my programing skills are pretty much limited to late-60's fortran and 70's AppleSoft Basic.

Check out the thermostat example plugin in the SDK - that's a good starting point. Also, of course, read through the Developer's Guide and then use Indigo 6 Object Model Reference to get into the details.

Nothing to really add to the conversation, but I just wanted to extend a great big Thank You to Matt & Jay for the way they make their product so easy to extend functionality. That, and the wonderful user community is what makes Indigo such a great thing.

I signed up for the developer site and emailed to get access to the WIFI api. No response as of yet. I will keep trying.

Thanks Jay - on it!

Looks like someone has come up with a pretty comprehensive python library for Evohome. I'll see if I can teach myself how to use these to save me extra work... not sure how far I will get though!

Well I can query Honeywell Evohome's web portal and pull back Zone names and temperatures.

That said - I am so behind on Python, I think it might be beyond all possibilities given the time I will need to spend to learn python!
I've PM'd nlagaros to see if he could work it into his plugin somehow.

How are you doing on this?

I'm thinking of Santa paying me a visit...

Oops, I seem to have just ordered EvoHome + 4 TRVs. ;-)

Now to ask Chameleon when Santa's due to arrive here.

Pete, I reckon you've about 3 days to finish that plugin...

I did the same last week, Pretty impressed with how its all working at the moment. Much easier to use than my old iTemp TRV's. Quick question for Pete, and probably a stupid one, but what URL are you pulling the temperature data from?

Arrived at work just before noon today.

Pretty impressive delivery there!
