Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

The documentation I am reading here about triggers shows commands for 3 triggers -- A, B, and C -- with On and Off commands for each. I assume that is what you are seeing as a Zone 2 trigger (perhaps other receiver models have more triggers).

I can add that action in to the plugin, but will be up to you to test it out and see how it works as I either don't have it, don't know about it or at the least don't use it! :-) I'll let you know when a test version is available to try out.

Download the latest version and give it a try... Set Auxiliary Trigger action. Please let me know if it works or not!

Thanks Adam. Unfortunately, the activation of the Zone two trigger didn't yield any results.

I use Roomie for some remote management and I notice that powering on Zone two is what activates the +12v trigger. I'm hoping this helps you.

Below is the debug log from the test I ran using the latest version of the plug in. Note that I tried all three triggers.

Thanks again for all of your help!

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

Give the latest version a try - I added a zone power command. Note that you will have to go into the Device Properties and mark that Zone 2 is connected before you will be able to select it in the action dialog box.

Adam,

I did a quick test last night and it looks like it works!!!

I will be performing some more Indigo scripts later on this week and this will solve a LOT of issues for my needs!

I greatly appreciate your response!

Have a great day!

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

Is TX-NR609 supported?

It should work just fine -- so far I haven't heard any in that line of receivers not working and I know that the 616 has been confirmed to work. I don't know if anyone has tried that specific model or not.

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

Based on the manual that I just pulled up, it should work, so let's start with the basics -- have you gone through the menu and setup the network? You will need to set three things:
  • DHCP or IP Address (and Gateway if necessary)
  • Network Control - Enabled
  • Control Port - probably can keep the default, but make note of it
Assuming that is all done (or you have already done it), you might make note of the IP address and try pinging it. If it pings but the plugin doesn't recognize it in the drop down it still may be able to control it via directly entering the IP address and port -- there are various network factors that can prevent auto-detection of devices.

Re: Onkyo Network Remote Feedback and Discussion

Adam,

Is there a control in the plugin to select an FM memory preset? Would that use the PRS command? Can the RDS command pull the FM RDS title and dump it into a variable? I'm also curious about the possibility of changing a Pandora Channel Is that what the NTC commands CHUP and CHDN are? I see you can pull artist/album information but I'm not sure if that is available from the Pandora selection.

I have a partially-done version of the plugin that allows sending arbitrary test commands to the receiver fairly easily - I'll see if I can complete & package that up for you to try as I could send you the proper commands and you could see if they work. Adding a confirmed command to the plugin should not be all that difficult.
