Onkyo TX-NR575 - STRMBOX input

I've been using this plugin to control my Onkyo TX-NR575 unit, but the one thing it doesn't have is a mapping for the HDMI input called STRMBOX. This is what I have my Roku connected to and I'd really love it if I could add this input selection to my Indigo Control Pages.

I tried every single input available in the popup list, but none of them connect that that hardware port on the device.

The onkyo-eiscp/eiscp-commands.yaml repository seems to mark this as input 11...but I don't know enough about the plugin to try and modify it.
Code: Select all
      '11':
        name: strm-box
        description: sets STRM BOX
        models: set1

Any chance to get this in there? or how I could modify the plugin myself to do it?

Thanks
Ross

Soooo... only a month late seeing this as I go back checking forums for missed posts - my sincere apologies! I am making a new version at the present time and will send you a link to a pre-release version to try out that has this input enabled. Unfortunately I can't test this and will have to take a guess at the return value until you can verify (the YAML is usually accurate but there are discrepancies here and there).

I expect that to be ready this evening or tomorrow.

Re: Onkyo TX-NR575 - STRMBOX input

Thanks Adam!

No worries and no rush...it's really nice to have the control I do on the receiver. I wish I had picked up a second one for a different room, but sadly they are not available anymore.
I paid about $250 for this one and I certainly can't find any close to it for less than $400.

Thanks!

Re: Onkyo TX-NR575 - STRMBOX input

Okay, I lied... there wasn't enough in there for me to properly update Indigo with the return value... but we can get that from your received. If you would:

1. Put the receiver on the proper input
2. Turn on Full Debug for the Onkyo plugin (via the Plugin Config dialog)
3. Go to the Send Arbitrary Command dialog from the menu Plugins -> Onkyo Network Remote Plugin -> Send Arbitrary Command
4. Select your receiver and enter SLIQSTN as the command and send.
5. Check the logs - you should see the response from this command...
6. Toggle Debug Off

If you can send me the response that you get, I can pretty easily get you going (famous last words... ?)

Here you go:

Code: Select all
Nov 14, 2020 at 8:44:53 PM
Onkyo Network Remote Plugin     Debug enabled (on Low) by user
Onkyo Network Remote Plugin Debug Sending eISCP Command: SLIQSTN
Onkyo Network Remote Plugin Debug Effect execution: Calling function inputSelectorQueryReceived
Onkyo Network Remote Plugin Debug Updating current input number/label: 11 / STRM

Nov 14, 2020 at 8:45:31 PM
Onkyo Network Remote Plugin     Debug disabled by user

Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks

Re: Onkyo TX-NR575 - STRMBOX input

Can you give this a try when you get a few moments to test it out? This is a pre-release of the next version for testing...
https://github.com/RogueProeliator/IndigoPlugins-Onkyo-Receiver-Network-Remote/releases/tag/v2.4.1-rc1

If this does not work, best would be the full plugin log (it is located in the Logs directory in your Indigo Server install, named by the plugin name). You can either post it if not too large or send me a PM and I'll send you my email to send it that way.

Re: Onkyo TX-NR575 - STRMBOX input

Hey Adam...installed it and tried to configure one of my control pages to add that input, but it doesn't show up in the list-

I'm guessing you forgot to edit the Onkyo Receiver Device and select that as one of the connected inputs... ?

Got busy with work and forgot to come back and say thanks again to Adam for the update.

Works like a charm now!
