Sonos S2

Looks interesting - especially high res audio. But is this going to break the current plug-in?

Re: Sonos S2

Sounds like S2 is a total re-engineering of the software, including control. It will require a separate iOS app, for example. My guess is that it will require a totally new plugin to control.

Re: Sonos S2

I hope they do not remove local control. That would be a real killer for me.

I am a few clicks away from updating to to be a beta-tester; has anybody else done this?

Re: Sonos S2

Looks as if some versions of the Connect work.

I haven’t risked it. Guess if it’s a beta option one can try it out and then roll back. Who wants to have a go?

Re: Sonos S2

Not it.

I'm still sporting 2 ZP100s. In 2005 or 2006, I bought a kit with 2 ZP100s and a CR100 controller. The controller stopped being supported eons ago, but the ZP100s still work 15 or so years on. In all, I'm super happy with how long Sonos has supported these old players.

I came here to drink milk and kick ass....and I've just finished my milk.

All of my devices are compatible, but I haven't been invited this time around.

Pretty much like my kit. Thankfully sold the CR100 when people were still paying money for them.
Expensive but amazing value for the years of use

Likewise. I don't remember what I got for the CR100--whatever it was, it was better than nothing!

Re: Sonos S2

Looks like S2 is now available. Has anyone tried it yet? I updated to it this morning, and it seems to be working so far.

One weird thing is I have a stereo pair of devices, and one of them always shows "transitioning" as the status. Other than that, so far, so good.

Is Indigo integration otherwise working as it should?

Re: Sonos S2

I just upgraded some of my players. I have a split system. All I can say is that it should work if you are able to upgrade all of your players. A split system will require some re-engineering of the plugin.
