Hopefully it is voice control. Do the old play 1/3/5 units have microphones? I believe they do for the tuning function. So this could be software backward compatible.

I don't think the old units have mics. Tuning is accomplished using the mic in your iPhone.

Intriguing. Would love to see a new Sonos product. Kind of reminds me of the excitement I used to feel before Apple's events.
