Announcement confusion

Hi,

I am playing a little bit with Play:1 and trying the MP3 announcement.

Scenario is:

Sonos is playing radio
MP3 announcement is done

I will expect that Sonos plays the radio again but it does not.

Where is my error? (I suppose I did something wrong)

Thanks
Marco

Re: Announcement confusion

If the radio was playing before the announcement, it should come back post the announcement. Can you post the appropriate portion of the log and lets see if there are any errors in the announcement.

Re: Announcement confusion

This is Google - they do not like the automated attempts to leverage their text to speech api. There isn't anything I can do to get around it that I'm aware of. Have you tried the IVONA TTS option? Quite a few have had more success with it over Google. I use it myself and think it is of pretty high quality.

Re: Announcement confusion

Is the announcement working? Looks like it should be from the log.

Re: Announcement confusion

Yes, announcement is working, but I see in logs

Code: Select all
Sonos Error                     UPNP Error: Restricted Object
Sonos Error                     Offending Command -> zoneIP: 192.168.1.222, soapRoot: /MediaRenderer, soapBranch: /AVTransport, soapAction: Seek

Thanks

Re: Announcement confusion

That's actually ok. In this case, the plugin was trying to seek to a particular time in a track. The action was likely invalid for the source or play state. Consider it a soft error -- nothing to worry about. I'll clean this up in future versions.
