Sonos wont connect to server:8888

I can access the HTTP-server w/ "http://<server name>.local:8888" from a browser (another computer than Indigo) but Sonos keeps complaining that it can't connect to server: <server name>.local:8888.
I have added a "radiostation" w/ URL <servername>.local:8888 but I get the same error. Is my SONOS stupid or what? I have checked the firewall logs (pfsense/snort/.., no FW on Indigo server) and I can't see that it's a FW problem.

My best guess is a DNS resolution issue. Are you running DNS on your Indigo server? If so, can you configure a FQDN? If we can't get it going, I will look into resolving the name to an ip address to avoid this moving forward.

Re: Sonos wont connect to server:8888

The DNS-things take place in my router (pfsense) and I don't think I have a DNS active in my Indigo server (clean install of Mavericks).
The server name (HA-mini.local:8888) is accessible from a browser on another computer but not from Sonos.
An IP solution would be great!! If I add a "radiostation" in Sonos: Http://<IP of my Indigo server>:8888/Announcement.mp3 Sonos can play it, I only use static mappings of IP's for servers so a fixed IP would be great.

Re: Sonos wont connect to server:8888

PS.
When I edit the NetBIOS name to "HA-mini", was something like "HAs-Mac-Mini" before (computer name has always been HA-mini) I can play the announcement via a "radiostation" http://HA-mini:8888/Announcement.mp3". But when I trigger the TTS from Indigo, Sonos says that server "HA-mini.local:8888" is not accessible. Indigo/Sonos-plugin adds ".local" to the server name. I have tried adding .local to the NetBIOS-name to no avail.

A fixed IP solution would still be the best, for me anyway!

I made the change to the code and will post it a little later for you to test out.
