Lifx - Adding Bulbs

Hey,

Thought I’d give the plugin a try but after many hours can’t get a bulb included in the Lifx app.
No issue at all including it in the Home app.
Anyone else have issues getting bulbs into the Lifx app using IOS?

Wrong place to ask but am curious if the Homekit Bridge enables Indigo to control Homekit devices?

Thanks,

Carl

I am slightly confused :?

You mention giving the plugin a try but then start referring to the iOS App.

Is there a problem that you need resolved with the LIFX plugin?

What LIFX bulb model are you trying to connect and are you trying to connect it to Indigo via the LIFX plugin?

Re: Lifx - Adding Bulbs

I’m quite confused myself. The bulb is a Lifx 1100 lumen.
I assumed the bulb had to included in the Lifx app before the plugin could discover it?
I can add it to Homekit without issue but not in the Lifx app.

Yes, this is likely a Lifx app issue but I was hoping someone who was using the plugin
might have a tip on how they were able to include their bulbs in both the Lifx app and plugin.

Thanks,

Carl

Got it working. Didn’t know you needed 2 plug-ins active. Lifx and Lifx Bridge.
Great plugin!

Thanks,

You shouldn't need the two plugins - they do two different things!

If you want to control LIFX lamps you just need the LIFX Controller plugin. It should detect the lamps and make them visible as Indigo colour lamps.

Are you using the LIFX Bridge to make the LIFX lamps visible to the iOS App?

If so, something seems to be wrong in your setup if the iOS LIFX App can't see the LIFX Lamps without any other software e.g. Homekit or Indigo. :?

Re: Lifx - Adding Bulbs

The way I got the bulbs to show in the Lifx plugin(s) was to find them in the device table of my modem,
enter that info into the plugin then restart both plugins.

Convoluted I know but that’s what worked. If just the Lifx Bridge is enabled it doesn’t show in the device type menu.
If just the Lifx plugin is enabled it does show in the device type menu but the bulbs aren’t found.

Thanks,

Carl
