Squeezebox Play Favorite Issue

Just moved Indigo to a new server and now the Play Favorite function has stopped working.
Everything else does seem to work though. I did notice the numbering of the favorites
in iPeng had changed so I did correct them in the Indigo actions but no joy.

Any idea what may have changed to keep it from working?

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Squeezebox Play Favorite Issue

Hi Carl,
The best way to check the numbers is to use the LMS browser - see this post on Favorite Numbering :)

iPeng is one out in its numbering system as it start at 1 (one) whilst LMS starts at 0 (zero).

If you put in an incorrect favorite number then LMS just ignores it without giving any error :(
I will look at whether it is possible to alert the user to an error

Let me know if this suggestion fixes your problem :)

Re: Squeezebox Play Favorite Issue

Great tip. thanks. I got it working by deleting all the favs and adding them back in.
Seems they were in a sub folder On mysqueezebox.com. The new ones I added were not in that "folder".

Re: Squeezebox Play Favorite Issue

Do love your plugin!
I'm getting nowhere with Logitech support....might you know why I'm always getting
duplicate song files? It's a fresh machine with just one Music folder.
I've rescanned, cleared the caches etc many time.

It started out with 3 of each file, guess I'm getting somewhere getting it down to 2.

Any ideas appreciated!

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Squeezebox Play Favorite Issue

What version of the Logitech Media Server are you using?
You can find it in the Systems Preferences > Logitech Media Server > Information tab :)

Re: Squeezebox Play Favorite Issue

It's 7.7.5.

The duplicates show in the LMS as well as in iPeng.

Many thanks,

Carl

Re: Squeezebox Play Favorite Issue

Hi Carl,
If there are duplicates in LMS, then I would expect to see them in iPenq as LMS contains the master DB which iPenq is accessing.

So the question is: why has LMS got duplicates?

The only thing I can think of is that you have got your music files folder specified twice.
Check in LMS > Settings> Basic Settings - How many media folders have you got specified - any duplicates there ?

I am using LMS 7.8.1 - I am not sure that using this would resolve your issue though as it seems a fairly basic problem.

Re: Squeezebox Play Favorite Issue

Tried 7.8.1 but same duplicates.

Think I might try deleting all the music files and start over.

Thanks,

Carl
