Favorite fruit company... reanimated

Rumors of a new Mac Mini “like” computer design.....at last?

Apple’s Next Mac Could Fill a Long-Awaited Hobbyist Niche, Report Claims - Inverse

Might be overkill for just indigo...but running it 24/7 and including SecuritySpy, SpamSieve, Indigo.... yeah, I could use one. I hope this becomes real.

Re: Favorite fruit company... reanimated

Well, another Apple event passes without any Mini news - only maybe 20 -30 seconds spent talking about Mojave - other than that, nothing about desktops at all. Nice phone and watch updates though, I'll order one of each Friday - I like the ECG stuff in the watch and my iPhone 6+ is on life support. Of course my wife won't let me get a new phone if she doesn't too, so Friday will be an expensive day!

EDIT: Matt & Jay, let's get on with the Linux vision of Indigo!! 8)

Re: Favorite fruit company... reanimated

Well it wasn't necessarily an "iPhone" event as they did talk about home pod, watches, Mojave, company performance, etc. The Mini is no longer their target market, or really even on their radar as it would seem. It's cool though, their decision and all... I'll continue to use Apple laptops and iOS devices because I like them, and I'm tied into the ecosystem enough that moving away would be a pain. The only thing keeping me using an Apple os for a "server" is Indigo; once that need is gone, so goes the need for MacOS outside of my laptops. As long as M&J don't transition Indigo to Windows I'll be good!

I’m sure they said they were actively considering it a couple of months ago...

Re: Favorite fruit company... reanimated

I would expect a new Mac in October but not holding breath. They might just huck it out there with no hoopla. At my home we are upgrading the security cam constellation using SecuritySpy. For that reason a Mac mini may no longer be adequate as we add a few more POE mega pixil devices.

If Apple is ever going to release the krackon now would be a good time.

We rarely (read never) make long-term prognostications. But I can say with 100% certainty that Matt and I are not considering Windows.

There's some sort of Mac centric event coming up in the next month.

SmartThings refugee, so happy to be on Indigo. Monterey on a base M1 Mini w/Harmony Hub, Hue, DomoPad, Dynamic URL, Device Extensions, HomeKitLink, Grafana, Plex, uniFAP, Fantastic Weather, Nanoleaf, LED Simple Effects, Bond Home, Camect.

I say with 100% certainty that if Indigo was written to execute in Windoze, I’d still run it on a Mac.

Hahaha! I was just reading this thread and thought I should reply to that saying “they tried that with me and look what happened”.. then I saw Jays retort!

A third EE would be good though.. who wants to work for free?
