re: Looking to the Future: Indigo Up-to-Date

Thought I would leap in here regarding the Looking to the Future: Indigo Up-to-Date blog post: Seems like an excellent way forward to me. :D

I like the idea that it should give Matt and Jay a more consistent revenue stream.

At the same time it means that Indigo Users will get more frequent and timely updates without having to wait for updates to be batched up for a new major release which is where I think we are at the moment with the pending release of Indigo 7.

Good luck guys :) ; you certainly have my buy-in to the new way forward :D

I'm used to this model and all in for it.What you provide is a fantastic value, and well worth more than the asking price. Just ask and $$$ will appear.

Thank you

Re: re: Looking to the Future: Indigo Up-to-Date

I would be happy to pay the subscription (really, extended updates) model if this means newer devices get added quicker.

If I look at how much I have spent on HA then Indigo is probably one of the cheapest elements. Especially if I factor in time and effort.

I am interested in what the pricing is going to be and I'm wondering if it is going to turn out to be a little bit too generous.

Sam.

They've given hints that it's still a fair bit off, so I wouldn't hold your breath for this year.

Well Durosity has already voted, so he can't vote again.

I'm fine with this model as long as it means more frequent iOS updates (including Apple TV).

I'm a special snowflake, so I get to vote as much as I'd like to.

Re: re: Looking to the Future: Indigo Up-to-Date

I am supportive of the new model - I'd prefer a full rental model to be honest but this is up from where we are.

The prize is a) more frequent functional updates and b) a more regular income for Matt and Jay.

I'm a little surprised that people are throwing their toys out of the pram without knowing what the costings are going to be. C'est la vie.

Kind thoughts,

Andrew
