Water level

Hi all,

I need to monitor the water in a tank, and get a notification when is above a certain level. The tank must be always empty (in reality is not a tank, but the windows of my basement ) and I need a notification when too much water is in inside it.
Which is the best solution? Shelly 1? Any external wire needed?

Thanks

Re: Water level

To be more precise, I do not need the water level, but an on/off signal which is triggered when the water is too high

Would this one work with a Shelly 1 Plus?

Re: Water level

Or maybe using the Shelly Addon connected to a Shelly Pkus and then a sensor which closes the contact when hit by water?
The question is if the Shelly addon is supported by the Shelly plugin

Re: Water level

I use a float sensor connected to one of the X10 IO plugin units to monitor the drain pan under my main AC unit.

Re: Water level

Can you use a water sensor such as:

HomeSeer HS-LS100+ Z-Wave Plus Leak Sensor.

It comes with a cable and probe.

Re: Water level

More than likely, the float is a simple switch, so any I/O input that works with switches should work.

Re: Water level

Yes then why not connect the floating sensor to a Shelly 1 Plus which is basically an open contact (no potential) which gets closed when the floating sensor is triggered?

Re: Water level

Precisely.

My only gig on the Shelly is that it's WiFi and not Z-Wave, but it should be fine with one of the Shelly plugins.
