Buying new TV, what works with Indigo?
Buying new TV, what works with Indigo?
I've just started a search for a new TV for our main room. Currently have Visio TV's that are about 5 years old. No real trouble with them, but the state of the art has advanced so much that I'm thinking its time to upgrade to a 4K unit.
Since I'm buying new anyway I thought it would be nice to have some degree of Indigo control. Ideally it would include turning on and off the device, controlling the sound, and selecting the input. Looking in the plug-in store I only see one for Samsung devices. Are there other sets that are controllable by Indigo?
Thanks for everbody's suggestions!

I recently (and incidentally) learned the Roku plugin controls my entire television, not just the Roku functionality. Pretty nifty.
In the past, I had success with an IP2IR box (i forget maker but you can web search), utilizing Cynical Cache plugin to send codes.
The Tivo plugin looks good, though I have barely used it. Also, you would need to enable the HDMI to control the power function of your TV if using an external box.
The recent Broadlink plugin and Broadlink Pro are great if you have discrete on/off commands.

I have a TCL Roku TV and a Sanyo TV both controlled via IP control / plugins... We don't use the IP control all that much but it does allow some level of automation like having a single button to turn on everything and launch the XYZ channel via a picture of the channel.Since I'm buying new anyway I thought it would be nice to have some degree of Indigo control. We use the native Roku control in DomoPad all the time as an on-screen remote, but more for the Roku itself, not the TV.

I control the Panasonic vieras with the plugin i wrote, ...its in the store - works well and few if any reported issues. Not a huge amount of people using it, but no issues - if the Panasonic 2 app works, so should the plugin - EU models will not power on via the plugin so you need to use a power module z wave or similar.

Actually I can power on the TV easily in Europe (WOL?), but I can't switch it off.
I guess, it is because of this:

Any way to integrate this in Indigo?

Unfortunately the script itself doesn't work with newer TVs anymore...
I don't know if there will be a solution.

Is there an app for the new TVs.
I’ve seen some code on github for the pins already, so it looks like the new TVs can be included

Re: Buying new TV, what works with Indigo?
If someone comes up with solution for LG TV's, please let me know. The protocol is well documented in the owners' manual... lots of commands...but I've gotten absolutely nowhere with this, as its about 3 steps past what I can understand.
I've got a USB to 9-pin serial cable, and from there, and 9-pin to 1/8" plug with connects to the TV's Service & Control Jack . Not even sure I have the right cable, not sure if I have the right driver, and not sure what plugin might work for serial commands to send them from Indigo to the TV, or to format them.

+1 on TLC Roku. The Roku plugin works great.
