Re-Add Z-Wave Motion

Hello Everyone,

I deleted a Z-Wave motion from my system (for testing purposes) and now Im trying to add it back and getting the following message about the Node ID

Code: Select all
   Z-Wave                          started controller inclusion mode
   Z-Wave                          stopped controller inclusion mode
Z-Wave Error                    the node included has the same ID as a node already in use by Indigo
Z-Wave Error                    to change the encryption state of the device you must exclude it before re-including it

How do I get around this?

Edmond

Re: Re-Add Z-Wave Motion

Try excluding it first and re-including it again.

Re: Re-Add Z-Wave Motion

Also, are you sure you actually deleted the Indigo device that represented the sensor or did you just exclude it? If the latter, then all you need to do is edit the Indigo Device and select the new node ID in the popup at the bottom of the dialog (not create a new Indigo device).

Re: Re-Add Z-Wave Motion

I didn't exclude it, I only deleted the device from the home window of Indigo. It took a while for me to figure out how to exclude it until I found this page. https://wiki.indigodomo.com/doku.php?id ... ve_devices

The node number that was used before wasn't reused, is that normal. For example the Node was 003 - Sensor and instead of indigo using the same number after I excluded it, it used 004

Anyways, I've got it working well again.

Thanks for your help guys

Re: Re-Add Z-Wave Motion

Yes, node number 3 will remain unused now until you’ve got 250 (?) nodes then it’ll cycle back to 1 and use the next unused node, ie 3.
