Yeah I wouldn't have bought it from there at all! Was hoping that I could get an adapter if possible to save draining the system.
Yes please Colin, although it looks like the pin for an AD2 is quite short, like my other valves in the house. It's just this one radiator for some reason !

You don't need to drain the system, you can freeze it. There's kits for that :)

I found two adaptors which look like they might help...PM me your address and I'll drop them in the post to you.

Re: Can't fit TRV to valve

The one on the left was the best fit, but very very tough to get on. Even then, it didn't fit as I couldn't screw it far enough down to get the pin through. But thanks anyway! I guess it's a new valve that I need after all

Just in case it helps avoid draining the system you might want to consider something like this : http://www.screwfix.com/p/arctic-pipe-f ... 25ml/20183

It was worth a shot. Probably the left ones thread was too fine. just a thought could the other ones hole be drilled out to fit the shaft? if that makes sense.

Re: Can't fit TRV to valve

Possibly, although I had to hack apart the adapter as it got stuck on the rad :(
