As I stated above Yosemite is sending the emails fine for me. I can't speak to anything else but my own personal experience...
Does the iCal trigger when it sees an invite that was sent to the mailbox it's checking or just the email that has the Alert? Neither case works for me, the iCal scans the mailbox but doesn't seem to pick the email.
