I too am looking for an a working M1 plugin. I'd certainly pitch in a few bucks for a working solution if we found the right developer.

Of course, any capable developer would probably balk at the chance to work for any group-funded group (I know I would!)

Everyone that contributes is going to have their own ideas of what it should look like and incorporate, and since they're paying, they'll definitely want it. It'd be like having a committee of bosses!

My 2 cents.
Ideally, it would be someone who....
Has Indigo and Elk and who is looking to integrate and a few bucks would drive the motivation; or...
Has an Elk and would commit to do the integration if we donated some bucks to purchase an Indigo License for them

Maybe tough to find, of course. But, that would be the place to start.

Not to my M1, no. Its running the same release. I have used the Elk plugin for years prior. Worked great.
I even tried creating a brand new Indigo database, with only the M1 in it and 1 insteon device. Just in case something was wrong with the objects in my home database.
But, that has the same problem.

And +10 on the bummer that there are a lot of us with ELK security panels and no one updating the software integration. Making me have to consider an alternate home security panel now.
What are the alternatives?

Having old firmware and boot loaders, I did go ahead and upgrade all of my ELK firmware which is all running the following now.

M1G: HW=0.13, BOOT=3.36, FIRMWARE=5.3.0
M1XEP: HW1.0, BOOT=2.02, FIRMWARE=2.0.22

The plugin starts up, but the status of my Alarm Panel is never updating.

Well, since the development has stopped on the ELK plugin. And since, for some reason I have gone from years of working flawlessly, to now not working. I have had to hack my system with a Universal Devices 99i controller, which is talking to my ELK, which I then use to push back status of the Alarm to Indigo. Its my ELK Proxy. Maybe at some point, the ELK plugin will get revived. For now though, I have my proxy working.

This is my plea, to the indigo developers out there for a software product that needs to be developed. I am an owner of the elk M1 security system. There have been in the past programmers who have written small plug-in programs to help users interface with the elk M1. I think this is a market that is untapped and waiting for someone to bring forth a commercial level program to fill this gap. I write this because, of the home security products associated with the elk M1. The elk security panel contains a wealth of programming sets. The indigo program has a wealth of home automation features. If leviton, which is on the Windows side of the house can have programmers to interface with the elk's security system, we desperately need that kind of access on the Macintosh and indigo platform. I am not a programmer and cannot perform the task myself so my cry is to you programmers who are capable of creating such a program. I would be willing to do any beta testing or just be a guinea pig to see this process happen. I too would participation in the financing of this kind of project.

Your analogy has a big problem: Levition is a HUGE company. Indigo Domotics is a 2 person company.

Yeah... But you and Matt count double!

But seriously, I think he was referring to the Indigo plugin writing community as a whole, not just 'Indigo proper'. But even given that, your point is still well taken in that it's still a relatively small community.

one of the issue is we need ELK owners AND able to write plugin.. that reduces the # folks significantly.

As an indigo user with some plugin experienceI try to do things myself and NOT pay $$$ for some security panel.

Hey fellows I was referring to the programer or plugin writing community, Not just indigo. My comments are only to inspire those who are capable of writing the kinds of plug-ins and programs that give us owners of indigo a greater opportunity to utilize the many features of the program. Surely with all the money big business is throwing at young people with programming skills, we as end-users would be more than happy to pay for a product that meets this particular need.

Did you ever get this working? I have ELK plugin up and running for last 2 years almost. I don't do a ton with it, but its functional for me.

I just downloaded this plug in and it works, you just have to enable 'unsecured port' and then enter the default port of 2101. Some of the more advanced functions are missing but all the zones appear and you can arm/disarm the system with triggers.

Does your plugin show the correct status of the ELK (Armed, Disarmed). Mine used to work, now it only shows UKNOWN as the status.

I've had no problems with the Elk plugin. It's been working fine for me for a few months.

That being said, if it's not being supported I can look at taking it over. I'm more of a javascript person but I can give python a shot.
