Re: Sky+ IP Control

Hey

If you want to send the plugin to me@durosity.net I'll test it as soon as I can!

Thanks

Mike

Oops just realised that was a reply rather than pm... Tapatalk seems to be very odd at times :/

Re: Sky+ IP Control

I just heard about http://www.engadget.com/2014/10/22/skyplus-app-update/

I wonder if this could be used to push say SecuritySpy CCTV snap shots to your TV when someone comes to the door or prowls around outside...

If there's commands in the API for it, we should be able to send photos either directly or into iCloud then get Sky to show them on screen.

Re: Sky+ IP Control

Saw this update come through as well - Be interesting to see if the API caters for your suggestion...

Any update on the testing of your Sky Control Plug-In? I see Durosity was assisting.

Re: Sky+ IP Control

I've struggled with time since the last updates but hoping to get back to it next week.

I'll be sat in several panto rehearsals pressing play/stop/play/stop so hoping to crack on between songs!

Can you share where you got to with this? I'm happy to contribute to take this forward.

Looks good!

Re: Sky+ IP Control

Seems interesting, but I think I'm just going to ditch sky. Too little good content on tv that I can't get elsewhere for cheaper.

Unfortunately mum is still Luddite and watches too much TV - I couldn't get her using Apple, Roku, Netflix etc for TV viewing.

She doesn't even understand that our house radio comes via Internet to iTunes then out via Airfoil to the AE's around the house.

Re: Sky+ IP Control

I think you've jinxed the lounge TV. Won't turn on this morning!

IP controlled replacement coming up!

Re: Sky+ IP Control

Hey not sure if you guys are still interested on controlling Sky via a Plugin. Getting Sky Q installed on Wednesday, currently on Sky HD+ controlled via IR2IP. I upgraded to Denon AVR and I am loving the speed and reliability of network controlled devices. So I am thinking I should invest time on network controlling the Sky Q box. I found some little pieces on this blog post which shows the basis on the REST interface. I also found this Github project which is a NodeJS module for sending remote control commands to a Sky TV box. Works with Sky+HD and SkyQ.
