Re: Beacon: a Geohopper/Beecon plugin

Can you turn on debugging and send me a few examples?

Re: Beacon: a Geohopper/Beecon plugin

Maybe it doesn't work on IOS6?

Thanks,

Carl

Tried that but there is nothing in the log about leaving/arriving anywhere.

Shouldn't all arrivals etc. be recorded in the apps timeline?
There's nothing there at all except my tests.

I tried deleting/reloading the app, same issues.

Thanks,

Carl

Hey Carl

When you click the Blue, Right hand clock icon in GeoHopper, do you see something like the attached?

Nothing in the timeline at all, except some tips and my tests.

Doubt it has anything to do with the plugin..the app isn't working.

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Beacon: a Geohopper/Beecon plugin

I don't know if it was coincidence or a "feature", but I found that Geohopper fences were very inconsistent until I dropped the pins when I was actually at those locations. Also, I've found that the boundaries (or perhaps the notifications) have been somewhat inconsistent as well.

Lastly, and I don't think that this has anything to do with Indigo, but from time to time I have to reinstall Indigo to get the notifications to come through. That said, I'm using script actions through the desktop client and not a web service.

I bring all this up because I think there may be some inconsistencies on the Geohopper side of the equation.

Re: Beacon: a Geohopper/Beecon plugin

I tried dropping pins while at the location and just entering them without
any difference. Odd problem for sure. Seeing there is nothing in the timeline
to indicate any change at all to any location I guess I can assume it just doesn't work.

Thanks,

Carl

Hey Carl
FWIW, twice today upon arriving home, GeoHopper didn't notice.... so it may not be just you.

You might try re-starting your phone to see if that helps. Stranger things have happened...

Re: Beacon: a Geohopper/Beecon plugin

@jitnol: You just reminded me of something else that happened recently. I had recently done a soft reset of my iPhone and Geohopper made me re-register my device. After doing so, it was quite some time before my fences showed back up.

Re: Beacon: a Geohopper/Beecon plugin

Beginning to sound like even if it does work, it doesn't.
I'll play with it a bit but I think I'll just stick with
the FMF approach. It has worked amazingly well.

Thanks,

Carl

Have you tried Geofancy, to see if that works any better for you?

I would but my phone is too loaded with stuff, that I actually use,
to upgrade to IOS7.

Carl

Just curious if you've enabled "Sounds" in the notification page in GeoHopper. I had turned mine OFF right about the time things seemed to stop working.

I've turned them back on, and now, everything seems fine..

Could be the app doesn't send out notifications unless sounds are enabled..?? Just a theory..

Re: Beacon: a Geohopper/Beecon plugin

Tried turning on the sounds but still zip.
Thinking it may be an IOS6 thing.

Thanks,

Carl

Re: Beacon: a Geohopper/Beecon plugin

Hey Carl..

sorry its still not working for you... but you may be right... some kind of iOS 7 Notification update that doesn't work right in iOS6.

FYI, since I turned the sounds back on, everything is working fine... they are a bit annoying... but such is the price to be paid I guess....
