Indigo powered video recording workshop/ studio

Big thanks to the Indigo community for helping me figure out how to do this-

My workshop (where i go when i should be sleeping) is now equipped with various PoE and USB cameras (and one 3d printed, PT face-tracking camera gimbal of my own coding) all running on Blue Iris which is controlled by GlennNZ ‘s awesome plugin.

(If above doesn’t work i’ll figure out another way to share)

Basically, i want to document making my useful-to-stupid projects.

The problem- i’m not big into videography; too much time setting up shots, losing microSD cards, finding microSD cards, managing files, etc.

So i made a box with buttons and led indicators so i can just smash them and Indigo tells Blue Iris to record (this utilizes an esp32, HTTP libraries, and MQTT (thanks FlyingDiver )).

I can finally record my stupidness easily!

I get it, I scrubbed all my Facebook data and Instagram data in 2019 when they started doing sentiment analysis for suicidality and reporting it to law-enforcement, but you should be able to view it on a webpage without logging in.

Edit- above is meant as a privacy concern, not an actual desire to hide actual suicidality from law-enforcement

Thanks! I am delaying my episode on Camerabot 2000 to first release Lawn Murderer 2000- it’s a fun little project covering lawn care, physics, arduino programming- and a coring aerator at 140 psi welded to my daughter’s pink Barbie Power Wheels.

Saw this movie in the theater when it first came out. We pissed off so many people with our laughing (apparently, they thought it was supposed to be serious). I mean c'mon. The 6000 SUX?

Dead or alive. You're coming with me.

Great question! While I love Furze, if I won the lottery today, I would probably try to become a high school science teacher.

I want this to be educational and kid-friendly but mainly geared towards adult maker-types. I plan to go through the math of the pressure in the pneumatic cylinder, the bore size, and a little bit about the importance of the inertia of the system. Add some of the welding shots I have (not yet posted), I talk about oxidation and how it is different for steel and aluminum and why the direction the electrons are arcing is relevant.

That said, I will be hooking up an absolutely brutal murder contraption to the back of a toy vehicle targeted at age 3–6. So yes, Collin Furze is amazing, and I literally taught myself to TIG weld because I saw him do it so much, but I plan to make it maybe a little more science heavy without seeming stuck up about it, because science is fun!

Lol, I’ll handle it-Image
Probably episode 3: home pyrotechnics for the family, inspired by a Slayer concert I once attended :)

It’s definitely campy, but I watched a couple years ago and it holds up in its own unique way i gotta say. But yeah, the 6000 SUX

Don't get me wrong. I love RoboCop.

So a little Colin Furze + Mark Rober + Destin Sandlin...
