Support for Kichler 15DC300 Landscape Lighting Controller

Forum rules

Questions about hardware that can be controlled by Indigo (but not through the interfaces and plugins listed). If Indigo doesn't support some bit of hardware you're interested in, and you don't find a 3rd Party Plugin for it, add it to this forum. Be sure to include links to as much information as you can find about it.

Note: adding it here does not mean we're going to add it - in fact it's possible one of our 3rd party developers may decide to write a plugin for it. We add hardware/features based on a lot of different factors beyond just having a request for it.

Support for Kichler 15DC300 Landscape Lighting Controller

The Kichler 15DC300 Landscape Lighting Controller is z-wave compatible and can control up to 6 lighting zones for a total of 300 watts. Documentation indicates it works with Vera and the Vera App. Would be great to have support for this device either through a plugin or direct through Indigo. Landscape lighting control, other than through separate transformers and switches for each zone, doesn't seem to have been addressed through Indigo.

Re: Support for Kichler 15DC300 Landscape Lighting Controlle

From a brief look at the docs, that device wants to be either a Primary or Secondary Z-Wave controller - Indigo doesn't support secondary controllers and the serial Z-Wave interface must be the primary.

While it might be possible to get it added as a secondary controller, the docs contain no information about how to control the zones via Z-Wave commands. I'm not sure what the Vera integration does or where they got their info, but doing an integration with Indigo is likely to be a lot of work (which means we won't likely do it). I'm also not sure that a 3rd party plugin could do it.

It might be possible to control it via the Vera Bridge plugin and a Vera controller if the lighting zones are presented as standard on/off devices in the Vera.
