Weatherflow Smart Home Weather Station

Forum rules

Questions about hardware that can be controlled by Indigo (but not through the interfaces and plugins listed). If Indigo doesn't support some bit of hardware you're interested in, and you don't find a 3rd Party Plugin for it, add it to this forum. Be sure to include links to as much information as you can find about it.

Note: adding it here does not mean we're going to add it - in fact it's possible one of our 3rd party developers may decide to write a plugin for it. We add hardware/features based on a lot of different factors beyond just having a request for it.

Re: Weatherflow Smart Home Weather Station

I'm the Bruce that's been thinking about this, and I have indeed started working on one. I hope to have something cobbled together soon that basically exposes the WeatherFlow websocket to Indigo, letting folks have access to the AIR & SKY observations and events they generate.

One thing I'm still waiting on is to obtain an actual API key from WeatherFlow for this. Their API documentation says to email them to request an API key. I did that last week and haven't heard anything from them yet...

Re: Weatherflow Smart Home Weather Station

I ordered my weather station as it was easy to connect to WU. A few weeks before delivery, this was no longer an option. The weather station has worked great and I have had to change the battery once after about a year.

I really hope there will be a plugin soon so it can be a part of my Indigo system.

Excellent! I'll hop on the bandwagon then assuming that WF will get you the key. Let me know If we can help.

Re: Weatherflow Smart Home Weather Station

Was hoping for some dramatic weather change but unfortunately it’s cloudy and stable.
First test is great except from that I can’t find rain intensity?

HI Bruce,

Your plugin has been working flawlessly since I installed it on the night of Dec 24! I am using it in UDP mode.

Now for some feature requests! :D

How about having the state info populated with a drop down box in the preferences for what to display?

Is it possible to select knots / MPH / KPH for wind speed?

Metric / Imperial for Temperature as well.

Also how about having the wind direction selectable from degrees to cardinal direction?

THANKS!

Re: Weatherflow Smart Home Weather Station

Had my first problems today. A majority of my lamps will only go on if the illumination is above 7000.
Had some problems today that the sky unit wasn’t reporting as frequently as normal and the lights didn’t turn because the sky wasn’t reporting.
Is there any way to check if the stations are online or not?

Looks like the developer wants support to go through his Github repo, so I'd suggest posting there.

I'm going to lock this topic as it has now been superseded by the plugin.
