Questions about hardware that can be controlled by Indigo (but not through the interfaces and plugins listed). If Indigo doesn't support some bit of hardware you're interested in, and you don't find a 3rd Party Plugin for it, add it to this forum. Be sure to include links to as much information as you can find about it.

Note: adding it here does not mean we're going to add it - in fact it's possible one of our 3rd party developers may decide to write a plugin for it. We add hardware/features based on a lot of different factors beyond just having a request for it.

Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

Hi all,
I bought the Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1 which is Door/Window sensor, Humidity, Temperature, and Illuminace.
part# VS-ZD2201.US It is Z-wave Plus. It operates on 2 x AAA batteries.
It included in the Z-wave on Indigo with no problem, but shows up as "Routing Slave".
It displays battery percentage, but that is it, nothing else. When you open the configuration in Indigo, all you can
set is the polling reporting time, nothing else. (I'm using Indigo Pro V: 6.1.8 )
I need to use this to report the Humidity and Temperature in Indigo, I don't care about the door/window sensor or the Illuminace sensor.
Here is what shows up in the Indigo Event Log when adding the sensor:

Version: 1.0.363
Node ID: 16
Model: Routing Slave
Model ID: 201F1F10
Manufacturer: Vision / Yale
Manufacturer ID: 0109
Protocol Version: 4.05
Application Version: 6.01
Model Definition Version: 0
Library Type: 3
Class Name: Routing Slave
Class Hierarchy: 04 : 07 : 01
Command Class Base: 00
Command Versions: 80v1 84v2 85v1 86v1 71v1 70v1 31v7 72v1 73v1 98v1 59v1 5Av1 7Av1 5Ev1
Multi-Endpoint Types: - none -
Multi-Endpoint Classes: - none -
Multi-Instance Counts: - none -
Features: routing, battery, beaming, waking
Neighbors: 1, 5, 11, 12, 15
Associations: 1:[1] 2:[]
Config Values: - none -

Is there a way to get the features of this sensor to work in Indigo?
This is a nice little multi sensor, well made, and the best part is it uses normal AAA batteries.
Thanks,
-Tom

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

I submitted the details for one of these months ago but nothing has happened with it! :(

Computer says no.

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

Can either you enable Indigo's debug Z-Wave logging checkbox (via the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Configure... menu item), then trip the sensor 3 times (move magnet away and close), and also trip/reset the tamper switch 3 times?

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

Hi Matt,
I did press write to log, but that only puts what I've already posted here in the Event Log.
Using the magnet 3 times doesn't put anything in the Event log at all? The tamper doesn't do anything either. (just blinks the little blue light) Only the battery status is showing in Indigo.

If you give me an address, I'll ship this sensor to you (through my email so you don't have to give it out on here) and you can figure it out for sure.
It would be great to be able to use this sensor in Indigo because it is so well made, and I love the built in features: Temp, Humidiy, door, illumanince, and it uses 2 normal AAA batteries!

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

That is strange it isn't sending anything. It looks like it has 2 association groups. Indigo automatically added one for group #1 back to the Z-Stick. Try adding one for Group #2 back to the Z-Stick using the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Manage Associations... menu item. Note you'll need to wake the module for Indigo to be able to send the change to it. After you do that, re-sync the device (again waking it) – I want to make sure both associations "took.". Then try again moving the magnet to/from the module a few times with debug logging on. Copy/paste the Event Log results of all that into a reply for me and we'll see if it gives us any clues.

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

Hi Matt,
I tried this again, and same thing. Nothing from the magnet open/close shows up in Event Log?
I deleted the device (016), and then added it again to the Z-Stick, then plugged back in Indigo.
It syncs immediately with the Z-Stick, and allows me to add the zipato device in Indigo, but
only the "routing slave" as 016. Nothing else but the battery status? No Temp, Humidity, etc.
I'm stumped.

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

Are you sure you enabled the Z-Wave debug logging checkbox? I'm not seeing any logging above with the debugging prefix.

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

For the Event Log snippet above (after you enabled the debug checkbox), did you move the magnet to/from the module? I see broadcasts from the module for the temperature and humidity sensors, but not for the magnetic reed switch.

Regardless, here is a beta of Indigo's Z-Wave library that adds preliminary support for the Zipato Multisensor. Re-sync it after you install it (extract it then double-click to install)), and Indigo should create the devices for all the sensors.

Hi Matt,
Thanks, I'll get back to you later tonight, when I have a chance to install it.

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

Hi Matt,
I finally had time to try this. It didn't work.
I downloaded the beta and installed it. Then I shut down Indigo, rebooted, and re-synced the zipato.
I still only get the "Routing Slave" created. Just like before, the only thing it does is report the battery life
in percentage.
Just to be sure, I am running Indigo Pro 6.1.8. (can't install V: 7, due to the 10.7 or above requirement.
This machine is running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.

Re: Zipato Multisensor 4 in 1

Sorry, I overlooked or forgot that in the original post you said you were using Indigo 6.1. The beta I posted only works with Indigo 7. Unfortunately, because this is a new device definition, and because how we store device definitions is completely different between Indigo 6 and Indigo 7, it will only be available in Indigo 7 and later.

Indigo 7.1.1 is now available for download and includes support for the Zipato Multi Sensor 4 in 1 (ZD2201).
