Qubino Flush On/Off Thermostat 2

Questions about hardware that can be controlled by Indigo (but not through the interfaces and plugins listed). If Indigo doesn't support some bit of hardware you're interested in, and you don't find a 3rd Party Plugin for it, add it to this forum. Be sure to include links to as much information as you can find about it.

Note: adding it here does not mean we're going to add it - in fact it's possible one of our 3rd party developers may decide to write a plugin for it. We add hardware/features based on a lot of different factors beyond just having a request for it.

Qubino Flush On/Off Thermostat 2

I bought the Qubino Flush On/Off Thermostat 2 https://qubino.com/products/flush-on-off-thermostat-2-2/ after checking that it claimed it was supported on this page https://smarthomedirect.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Qubino-Thermostat-2-Gateway-Compatibility-Matrix.pdf.

Anyone else using it?

After adding it, Indigo happily see the device but say it does not support it.

The log shows:

5 Jun 2021 at 13:38:18
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" mode is off
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" is idle
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" temperature update to 66.5 °F
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" units changed to °F
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" heat setpoint is 22.0 °C
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" units changed to °C

Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" mode is off
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" is idle
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" temperature update to 19.2 °C
Z-Wave received "Lada Kylskåp" heat setpoint is 22.0 °C
Z-Wave received "Lada Stallförråd" energy total to 26.06 kWh

Some things I can do with the device, but not really control it, and it definitely stays in some weird state. I am trying to use it for turning compressor on and off in a fridge, but it stays in off mode.

The device information is as follows:

Re: Qubino Flush On/Off Thermostat 2

We haven't had any reports of users trying this one yet. Perhaps Qubino tested it themselves though. Based on the manual I would expect it to work even without an Indigo definition, so I'm not sure what is going wrong.

Note even without a device definition in Indigo you can use the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Modify Configuration Parameter... menu item to change the parameters mentioned in the manual.

What happens when you use Indigo to change the Mode between OFF and HEAT? With the default settings (based on the manual) I would expect those two modes to work. Once in HEAT mode you probably need to increase the HEAT SETPOINT in Indigo to be greater than the current temperature, then I think it should turn on.

Re: Qubino Flush On/Off Thermostat 2

I bought one of these, assuming that it would work with Indigo... Of course, now I realise it doesn't!

If I use the modify parameters command can I get this working ie controlling a load based on the temperature?

Can you re-sync it in Indigo then copy/paste the Event Log window results into a reply for me.

Also, how specifically is it not working? Does it not show as a thermostat device type?

Re: Qubino Flush On/Off Thermostat 2

Thank you for the quick reply Matt.

I was too quick off the mark. It actually seems to work quite well now! Just took a bit of time to establish comms.

I'm currently using it to control an electric radiant panel to touch-safe levels and it's reporting power levels reliably. In short, false alarm - it works great with Indigo!
