license level limited number of clients

What causes something like this? If there is a limitation on the number of clients...remind me what that is again.

I ended up logging out of of Indigo on one machine and it appeared to resolve it but I was able to log back in, on that machine.

Code: Select all
2022-09-08 06:45:50.108   Application   Indigo Cocoa client disconnected (172.30.0.218)
2022-09-08 06:45:59.847   Application   Indigo Cocoa client authentication failed - license level limited number of clients (172.30.0.218)
2022-09-08 06:46:00.300   Application   Indigo Cocoa client disconnected (172.30.0.218)
2022-09-08 06:46:05.808   Application   Indigo Cocoa client authentication failed - license level limited number of clients (172.30.0.218)
2022-09-08 06:46:06.330   Application   Indigo Cocoa client disconnected (172.30.0.218)
2022-09-08 06:46:11.664   Application   Indigo Cocoa client authentication failed - license level limited number of clients (172.30.0.218)
2022-09-08 06:46:12.256   Application   Indigo Cocoa client disconnected (172.30.0.218)
2022-09-08 06:47:18.949   Application   Indigo Cocoa client authentication failed - license level limited number of clients (172.30.0.218)

I attempted to log in several times because on the client, it wasn't clear why I couldn't log on. It's only after looking at the logs...that I had some idea what was happening.

I rebooted the server...since I have never seen this before.

Re: license level limited number of clients

This seems to indicate that you are running multiple copies of the client on the same Mac. Do you have multiple macOS accounts logged in, and each with a Mac client? Given your other post (which I just replied to) that seems like what's probably happening.

No. extremely unlikely. I log in as me on all of the machines which interact directly with Indigo.

Given that the other problem I reported was related to a bad install, that has been addressed, .lets drop this issue for how and wait for a reoccurrence.

FYI: I reported this separately, in the event it wasn't related, but right now, it likely is if multiple macOS account is the only way that message should occur.

Re: license level limited number of clients

That error shows if you have more than 20 active client connections to the Indigo Server, so something was causing a lot of connections to open (and never close).
