Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

I erased both volumes on the drive (MacintoshHD and MacintoshHD-Data), and then I did a new, clean install of Mac OS Monterey 12.2.

Unfortunately, there is no change. The TrustEvaluationAgent errors are still happening, exactly as before. The two plugins causing it are Email+ (PID 13984) and miniUnifi (PID 14011).

Here is what the whole sequence looks like. It repeats periodically, I'm assuming when the plugins are polling.

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

What devices do you have for Email+ and how are they configured?

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

I have two Email+ devices. One is POP and the other is SMTP. They're old, so I'm pretty sure they weren't originally created as Email+ devices.

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

I should add that I haven't seen any errors in the Indigo console about them. I know the SMTP device is working. I don't use the POP for anything at the moment.

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

Did you copy anything from the old system? Was it a clean Indigo install? Did you restore your entire home directory?

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

I used a file copy rather than a backup tool in order to be certain what was being restored. I copied in the Perceptive Automation folders and then installed Indigo. I also copied in the content folders from my home directory (but not the home directory itself).

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

Just as a test, disable the POP device and see if it continues…

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

I set "Poll every ___" to 0. That will do what you're asking, right?

No, uncheck the "Comm Enabled" box for the device in the Indigo Client UI.

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

With the POP device disabled, the launchd.log TrustEvaluationAgent errors tied to the Email+ PID stop occurring.

BUT if I trigger an SMTP message, I do still get a single instance of the error tied to the Email+ PID.

Re: Trust Evaluation Agent errors

What Email provider are you using for email from Indigo? And who's your ISP?

It appears to me that any time your system tries to make an SSL connection (or possibly any internet address lookup) it's throwing that error. The question is - is it an OS error or a problem with the Python install referenced from Indigo.

It would be useful if you deleted the entire Indigo install (the Perceptive Automation folder) and re-installed from scratch. Get a new installer to be sure. Make sure you still have a backup of at least the Indigo database file. Then just recreate the SMTP device and send an email with it.

Comcast is my ISP. Gmail is the provider. I should note that the SMTP email goes through just fine, despite this trust warning. POP too (although it's disabled ATM).

I've wondered about that myself. Do Ecobee2 and Pushover use SSL? I'm not noticing these trust warnings from either of them.

I may have time to try that this weekend.

Yes to both. But the certificate chains could be different, with different intermediate certificates, so they might not be hitting the same "bad" cert.
