Simple python script (not plugin)

I used to use Applescript to control indigo from other automations (other tools, etc...), but that has been deprecated for Python.

I know python quite well, but what I can't figure out from the documentation is how I can interface with indigo from an EXTERNAL python script.. just a python script, say, executed from the terminal.

Is there a library I need to install? 'import indigo' obviously yields me an error.. and I can't see where I can install the indigo library.

Basically, I'm super confused. All the documentation seems to be from a "plugin" perspective where the indigo library is already loaded.

Basically, you can't. There are some things you might be able to do using the REST interface, but it's limited.

What kinds of things are you trying to do? Or tell Indigo to do.
