big sur: no disk backup

I just realized that super duper does not work on big sur yet. .. well it is new.

BUT Disk Utility can not make a copy of your internal hard disk to an external disk either: " ... seal broken..."

It is a "bug" in big sur, too many security layers

It is my desktop, not the indigo server 2018 mac mini OS: 11.0.1 (20B29), now have only time machine, not my 3 rotating daily full disk backups

Apple has a real "the solution is worse than the problem" situation that's only getting worse every year.

Re: big sur: no disk backup

Both Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper! can't create bootable backups and both are working to fix the issue (see links below). On the positive side Time Machine can finally create APFS backups which should be a lot more reliable than the Time Machine bundles which often fail restores and get corrupted on backups.
