As we've said before, Indigo Server supports running w/o WAN but some 3rd party plugins may cause problems. We've tested multiple times running Indigo on a WAN and there are no problems at all. The client connects and the Indigo Server starts up just as fast as usual. The only thing different are these 3 errors in the Event Log just notifying the user that network connectivity isn't working:
Code: Select all
   Error                           Unable to connect to IndigoDomo.com.
   Error                           failed to create reflector connection: unable to connect to server
   Error                           reflector reconnection scheduled in 15 minutes

I don't know which plugin(s) you are using that are causing the problem, but you will have to track them down by disabling all of them and enabling them one at a time. The plugins included with the Indigo installer all work.

Note it could also be an embedded script. If you have any embedded scripts that are making any calls that might block if there is no connectivity then that can also cause problems.

The Indigo Server does its best to sandbox plugins and scripts so that if one blocks or hangs it can continue to function. That works well in most cases, but it isn't 100% foolproof. If we can isolate which plugin is causing the problem and reproduce the problem here then we can try to see why it is causing the Indigo Server to also block. But for that to happen you'll need to identify the plugin causing the issue.

I don't know why you are seeing the license activation dialog. Again, we cannot reproduce that problem. If you were switching between versions of Indigo, re-running an Indigo installer, or moving around Indigo's preferences folders/files then that can of course cause the license key to need to re-activate with the server. But just losing network connectivity should not cause that problem, nor can we reproduce that problem here.

Please include the Event Log showing what Indigo Server logged in this case. We cannot troubleshoot problems without steps and logs. Again, we cannot reproduce the problem here at all.

Thanks for the extensive explanation and your time.
As said before; after an arduous start of the Server, without internet, we disabled ALL the plugins and restart the Indigo Server.
And again (with all the plugins disabled) the local app won't connect to the server, says Server not running, in the activity monitor we saw that the Server spontaneous was gone, etc.
So, it's not a plugin and we have no internal scripts.

We never switched to older/other Indigo versions, so, the license window is a very strange extra puzzle. Later on it was spontaneous disappeared when we wait a couple of minutes and start local app again..
When the local app is not closed and gives all the messages, it takes 2-3 minutes before we saw the display of the Indigo main window etc.
Then we enabled all the Plugins again (except the internet dependent plugins)

At this moment (without internet, (the workers of the fiber cable company have broken the coax cable of the competitor in the village.. )),
the buttons at the local control page at the Mac mini and at the iPad in the same wifi network are also not working anymore. The click sound is there, but nothing happens.

Could this be a DNS problem?
(Without internet no DNS)

Internet is back again, restarted Indigo Mac mini Server and everything is working perfect again! :D :D

Just to follow up on this, it sounds like the problem was tracked down to being configuration specific – the cable modem / router didn't behave well when the internet is down resulting in its DHCP server not working.
