On restart server plugins have trouble to load.

Hello,

I noticed that on a restart of the server different plugins have trouble to load.

What I see:
- Fase 1: Loading / Starting plugin for all enabled plugins.
- Fase 2: Started plugins.
- Fase 3: Errors (failed to start -- restarting) for a few plugins.
- Fase 4: Reloading / Starting plugins with an error.
- Fase 5: Application Error, ServerCommunicationError -- timeout waiting for response.

Most of the time I see fase 1 through 4. Result is that plugins eventually do start. But why does this happen and how to prevent.
Fase 5 does not happen often.

Posting the log contents when this happens is pretty much a necessity for figuring this out.

Similar problem. New 2018 Mini, Mojave 14.6, clean install of Indigo.

Also, and this may be being discussed in a different thread, my new computer is constantly sleeping. I have use the terminal command line “caffeinate, have downloaded and installed and feta mean as well as keep awake. Nonetheless, it becomes unresponsive and doesn’t wake up for screen sharing or even Indigo.

When I open the indigo app on my phone, I get the following screen, telling me that control pages are for pro only. I have to go to the Mac itself and push the power button on the back to get it to wake up.

Ham, all that taken together seems to indicate that you have some serious systemic issues on that Mac. I'd recommend starting over with a disk reformat and OS reinstall, then reinstall Indigo.

Hmmm .... this is a new (refurb) Mac mini 2018, 256gb SSD/8gb ram ,with pre-installed Mojave and a clean install of indigo. I transferred over the Indigo folder from my prior Mac and copied the 7.3 folder. Not sure how much better I can do than that.

If your Mac won't wake up short of hitting the power button, there's something wrong with it (I don't think it's possible for Indigo to cause that kind of issue, and nobody else using the 2018 minis has reported this issue)...

Agree with Jay it sounds like your system isn't in a good state. Regarding the Indigo plugin failures when the Indigo Server starts up, you might want to try disabling some of those plugins. It is possible there is a plugin in there that is causing some problems. Given the order of things it would be one of the plugins that is starting up before (or when the error) starts. So start with the EPS - Alarm Clock plugin and work your way up in the Event Log (Simple Serial, GhostXML, etc.) to see if disabling one of those gets it starting up smoothly again or not. But those problems might also be related to the macOS issue; no way to know for sure except to experiment around with it.

Turns out I had the Phidgets plugin set to intense debug and when restarting it did cause problems. The plugins appear to load well now.

Regarding the screenshot from the phone showing "Pro License Required," as noted I have a new mini. I left the old one running so I could screen share to transfer needed files. Although I transferred the license and also took Indigo and indigo Server out of the old computer's startup items, it was starting anyway as seen in Activity Monitor. That was throwing a spurious server. I shut it off and no more extra server.

Also, somewhere it is commented that the 2018 Mac Mini 8Gb configuration will spontaneously sleep, and upgrading to 32 Gb fixes sleeping so Indigo stays running. Despite Amphetamine, Caffeinate, the new Mac Mini with 8 Gb would sleep. Following install of 32 Gb problem solved. Go figure.
