Re: Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

Latest indigo and quite a few plugins. HKB seems to take the most resources. I'll get a list when next on the Mac

Re: Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

Thanks. We've had a couple of other reports of remote clients having memory issues. We're still trying to reproduce.

What plugins are you running? Any schedules/scripts that might be doing frequent updates to variables or devices?

Also, on the server side what are the memory usage of the server and all plugin processes?

Re: Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

My list of plugins. Limited schedules running as I had to limit what was running on my old mac mini server.

Re: Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

you could run a little utility: from plugin (indigo)utilities

Screen Shot 2019-07-17 at 10.00.23.png (24.43 KiB) Viewed 1462 times

that creates the following output:

and you can also make it print to the log file on a regular basis

Re: Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

That's ...... a LOT of plugins. I've not heard of anyone using that many before (but ultimately shouldn't really be a problem unless it's an issue for your Mac's capacities).

So the other question is what the memory usage of the IndigoServer and IndigoPluginHost processes are when you see the increased client memory usage.

Re: Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

Karl, I would do but the utilities plugin has an error so doesn't work for me.

utilities print plugin name error in Line '320' ; error='not well-formed (invalid token): line 21, column 61'

Really? Well I have a lot of non zwave devices that I use that all need their own plugins.

When the above issue happened the Mac mini running the server was fine and nothing looked out of place with it but I didn't capture the memory use. Will do next time.

The iMac running the client that t had the issue has had the client open for a few days now deliberately as a test and all is good for now

Re: Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

One of the issues that can occur is the macOS can get behind on updating device (and variable) UI in main window (and variable window). We've seen this a few times when someone has lots of plugins or a plugin that frequently updates lots of devices/variables. In that case Indigo's calls to refresh the UI can eventually cause Cocoa (macOS) to head off into a ditch. When this happens it wouldn't surprise me if memory usage also starts to spiral as well. I believe you are less likely to encounter the problem if you don't have Indigo's Main Window open (unless you need it), and if you do have it open if you select a device sub-folder instead of having all of the devices shown in the table.

Re: Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

utilities print plugin name error in Line '320' ; error='not well-formed (invalid token): line 21, column 61'

that should only affect ONE plugin, do you have any spaces umlauts .. in your plugin names?

will have a more descriptive error message.. ie which plugin creates the error

Anyone else experiencing memory leaks?

Karl, you can see the list of plugins above. No umlauts or special characters
