Any way to suppress events in the log?

I have 1 device that wont shut the **** up. Its working fine but boy is it chatty.

Is there a way to suppress the noise?

Code: Select all
8 May 2019 at 07:55:56
Z-Wave                          received "Bathroom Floor" heat setpoint is 5.0 °C

8 May 2019 at 07:57:01
Z-Wave                          received "Bathroom Floor" mode is heat

It does that pretty much every 60 seconds.

Its a HeatIt Underfloor Heating controller. TF021.
I have Hide Tempreture Messge Broadcast in Event Log enabled, but to no avail.

Any way to mute this other than turning it off at the mains?

I was looking to see if “Reporting Interval” was configurable in the params but it isn’t.

That is pretty lame – it really shouldn't broadcast out those messages unless the setpoint/mode actually changes. I'll look at adding some additional "Hide setpoint/mode..." UI for that particular module.

Re: Any way to suppress events in the log?

I have had the same problem with mine since 2016, in the end I added a Fibaro switch to turn it off when not required to stop the chatter 24 hours per day, it also allows me to see the power usage which the TF021 reports it supports but doesn't.
Getting the Hide Messages tick box to actually kill the constant chatter would be great as it still floods the log when it is turned on.

Indigo 7.3.1 is now available and has additional UI for suppressing logging on this particular module.

Thanks Matt.
It definitely works to suppress the "chatter" but also I now see I have a Total Usage of 94.69kWh in the past 567 days and 14 hours which has never worked before!!!!

Re: Any way to suppress events in the log?

The Smart Implant FGBS-222 temp sensor do not auto update values back to Indigo app. I'm sending sensor status request every 15 seconds. Is there a way to suppress log events such as "sent "076 - Sensor 1" status request". I found a way to suppress log events for the response. It would be nice to be able to suppress the send request to avoid large event logs.

There is not a way to suppress that logging currently.

Did you try changing the Internal temperature interval and Internal temperature sensitivity options for the device?

Re: Any way to suppress events in the log?

I set External sensor interval to 0 (disable) reporting. This did not stop logging event like "sent "073 - Temperature" status request: I can stop the value logging by checking the box "Hide temperature message in Event Log" in the Configure Value Sensor Module. It would be nice to have another option box for "Hide Status Request message in Event Log".

For this Smart Implant FGBS-222 , it would be nice to have option to convert temperature value from ºC to ºF in the" Configure On/Off Sensor Module and see it in the Devices-stat column. Now I do this by embedded script to variable for use in other control scripts.
