Database File

I just upgraded to 7.1 and am curious about the date of my database file.
I assume it’s the same one I’ve been using from 7.0, the name hasn’t changed but neither has it’s modified date.
In fact the modification date never seems to change when I make changes.
Shouldn’t it’s date change whenever it’s been updated?
