Using Remote Indigo Connection to Reboot PfSense Router

I'm wondering if anyone else has contemplated/implemented this use case...I have a pfsense router which, from time to time, needs a reboot to fix the vpn setup (effectively eliminating my ability to connect from outside my home network). While I was thinking about setting up a separate raspberry pi box with its own vpn to serve as a failback (and allow me to reboot my router), I thought that maybe I could trigger a python script or the like in Indigo to cause my pfsense box (which is on a separate standalone pc) to restart - or remote into the pfsense box, using the Indigo reflector connection as a makeshift vpn.

Does anyone do such a thing / have any thoughts about how it might be accomplished?

I’ve never had to restart my PFsense box, but I think if I did I’d just plug it into an appliance module and setup a action group to turn it off, wait a bit and turn it back on.
