SIRI with Indigo Home
Hello again
Siri for iPhone with the Indigo Touch, that would be cool
Turn on the light in the kitchen!
Turn on the light in the living room!
Open the garage door!
that would be really cool
There are developers who would do that??

Re: SIRI with Indigo Home
Have it send an SMS to your Indigo instance's e-mail address that it scans...maybe that would work for now?

Looks like someone has figured a work around to use Siri with Indigo: http://blog.cdeutsch.com/2011/10/using- ... ation.html

Using SMS as the interface. Interesting - though it does mean anyone sending a SMS to that phone number with a command has control of his house...

Re: SIRI with Indigo Home
Maybe he could integrate setting/unsetting his alarm system that way too!

+1 on the Siri proxy. I am, admittedly, ignorant about how to make this work but it seems like a very promising avenue to explore. Seems like we're already hosting a server. Could it be made to intercept local Siri traffic as well? Since it's only local and would only allow clients that, by definition, already have your wifi password, it addresses some security concerns.

Re: SIRI with Indigo Home
I just posted something in another forum yesterday. I have been using the Google Voice / SMS plugin and love it.
I did have a crazy thought though: What if you could integrate a chat bot in python into Indigo as a plugin? Then you could have totally verbose conversations with your whole home automation system (talk to your house), and get status updates, send commands, etc.

See that post.
This would be HOT! (and would work with Siri, as well as whatever other SMS or IM client).

Re: SIRI with Indigo Home
Just came across a new apt for iPhone that uses siri voice to control you mac computer.
Looks like someone might be able to integrate it to control indigo.

Re: SIRI with Indigo Home
It doesn't use Siri - you have to be running the Vocal app and it's using their voice recognition engine/technology (which isn't Siri). You could perhaps do some control with it though.
Re: SIRI with Indigo Home
Anything new in interfacing Siri with Indigo?
I keep seeing all the cool stuff folks are doing in regard to automation
using Eva on their Droid phones, hoping there might be a Siri solution by now.
Thanks,
Carl

Re: SIRI with Indigo Home
Still no Siri API from Apple for us to use.
Re: SIRI with Indigo Home
There's still the SiriProxy option. It's still very much a hacker/power user tool, but I've got it working well overall to turn on lights and stuff.ckeyes888 wrote:Anything new in interfacing Siri with Indigo?
