Difficulty connectong to Pad touch after IP server restarts

Last night my IP server was restarted. While my android app was unaffected my iPad touch app was unable to connect. I used the same setting (IP address) as the android app but was still unable to connect.

For anyone who has the same problem I had to restart the iPad for it to see the server.

I forgot to answer jay’s question. My IP server is the network server.

I’m still having periodic connection problems that so far are resolved by restarting my iPad. My iPad is iOS 11.4. My Android version works. It is is an LG G4 and Android 6.0.

Help

I'm sorry if I'm being dense, but what exactly is that? Do you mean your router?

If your iPad is dropping off the network and won't reconnect, then it seems like you've got a network issue of some kind.

I think she means DHCP server (serving IP addresses).

I was able to simplify this to resetting the network settings. I'm still not sure what causes this problem since it only happens on the iPad.

Another fix: We have two networks with different frequencies (2.4GHz and 5GHz ) since some apps do not work on the faster frequency. I can get iPad Touch to connect when I switch to the other frequency, i.e. from 2.4 to 5 or vice versa. I do not need to reset at all.
