Indigo touch app using 9gb

I have a dedicated in wall iPad that runs indigo touch.
It's only 16gb. I just got an alert that the storage is full.
Apparently indigo touch app is using 9gb.
I deleted the app and reinstalled. Went down to 3gb.

Still very high. My iPhone only has about 60mb usage.

Any ideas?

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

Do any other apps use excessive space?

Computer says no.

No. There are hardly any apps installed at all.
Sonos, Roomie Remote, Iaqualink, and Indigo.

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

Do you have a lot of large images on your control pages? Indigo Touch caches custom images locally. That's the only thing we store locally on your iOS device so if you don't have lots of images or exceptionally large images then I'm really not sure what's going on.

When you delete/reload Indigo (and before you actually launch it) you should see an app size of about 14MB, and documents & data of very close to 0.

Hi,
I don't have many images. Maybe a few hundred MB if even that much.
Only thing I can think of is I have 24 Foscam security cameras that are running thru securityspy. Indigo is connected to security spy. Those are refreshing image URLs. But even that shouldn't be 9GB, There is 1 page that shows all 24. That page only refrshes camera images every 30 min.

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

I suspect it is the refreshing images causing the problem, even though that shouldn't be the case. Indigo doesn't cache/save those, but it sounds like there is a memory leak either in Indigo Touch or iOS. What version of Indigo Touch are you running? And what version of iOS and iPad do you have?

That said, that wouldn't explain why the app was still showing 3GB of usage after you deleted and reinstalled it. If you do that, and haven't launched it or opened any Control Pages yet, then it should be well under 1GB as Jay mentioned. I've had mine installed for months and it is showing 1.62 GB (and I use refreshing images and SecuritySpy).

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

Hi thanks for the reply.
I don't recall the exact versions off hand. I am not near it now, but bothios and indigot touch are using the latest versions. That I know for sure.
The ipad is an Air 2.

I can try stopping the refreshing, because when I display all 24 together, it is more just like small icon to identify the correct camera. Then I tap it and it takes me to a full screen of that camera. The full screen cameras are continuous refrssh.\
I have been using this setup for a long time, and this issue just came up in the last couple of days. I am guessing it might be related to the recent IOS update.

Any suggestions?

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

Did you follow my suggested procedure above (delete from iOS, reinstall from app store and check size BEFORE starting it up)? Curious to see what the size is before it ever launches.

For reference; I've been running Indigo Touch on my iPad Air 2 since I got it and it shows app size 13.9 mb and data 1.1 mb. I have no cameras connected, running latest versions.

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

On my 5 year old IPad running 9.3.5, it shows 24.3 MB for the app and 8.3 MB data... And I have upwards of 100 devices and a dozen control pages, 5 of which are full screen 1080p cameras updated once every 10 seconds whenever I open one of them.

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

My iPad Mini 2 ran out of space completely, never had this issue with iOS 9.x

Running iOS 10.0.2 and Indigo Touch 2.0.5.

I have 5 refreshing JPG image feeds directly from my HIKVision cameras.

If I remove and reinstall, the problem came back after a few days.

iOS itself alerted me and then did a cleanup on it's own.

See attached screenshots.

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

Dare I suggest restoring the iPad and not restoring a backup? It doesn't look like you've got terribly much on there so shouldn't be too hard...

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

Two of my iPad Mini 2s are in fact recently erased and started from scratch to troubleshoot another Indigo Touch issue, and I continue to have the issue.

It feels like a iOS 10 issue.

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

Based on the evidence it does sound like iOS 10 is behaving differently than previous versions. Indigo does cache images it fetches from the Indigo Server but it never caches refreshing images (those are flagged to not be cached). It sounds like that may not be working correctly any more. I'm hoping there is a workaround we can do to fix it, but I won't be able to look into it until after Indigo 7 ships.

Re: Indigo touch app using 9gb

I use Indigo Touch on an iPhone that runs iOS 10.0.2 with lots of Security spy images that refresh.

Just checked Settings -> General -> Storage -> Manage Storage.

Indigo Touch is using 46MB
