That's right. The connection between Apple's Home App and Apple Watch appears limited to 'favorited' things but in my experience both work well with the HomeKit Bridge plugin.

I was thinking of trying it out. I'm going to have to take another look. The problem is my home automation is on a separate fire-walled subnet, so it may require more effort to make it work. I guess I'll have to install an apple tv there and open some ports to it. I'm not sure if there will be issues as a lot of apple stuff uses multicast which is not easy to implement across subnets. That is why, I left iTunes with airplay out of automation.

Has anyone implemented home bridge across a subnet? How much hustle was it?
