[ANSWERED]: Organizing devices for upcoming update

Should we start organizing our devices into 'Rooms' folders in preparation for Indigo Touch 2.0?

Re: Organizing devices for upcoming update

I'm not sure I understand your question. Why wait for Indigo Touch 2 to organize your devices into rooms (presuming that is how you want them organized)?

I think he's asking because HomeKit organizes devices by rooms. ;)

Re: Organizing devices for upcoming update

It will not be possible to expose Indigo devices as HomeKit devices. That is, the HomeKit bridge functionality is not something we (or any other software platform) can use at this point. Unfortunately, that decision/limitation is totally out of our control.

No software bridges, I'm disappointed. It seemed like an easy way to add voice control.

Contact Apple and ask them to allow software bridges...

I just stumbled across this http://www.homekitbridge.com online. I think it's much better to start a campaign to get Apple to allow software bridges.

Re: [ANSWERED]: Organizing devices for upcoming update

Not sure what one (a hardware bridge with XBee radio) has to do with the other (software bridges).

Apple generally responds much like we do - they watch for patterns in demand. The more people that request a feature the higher up on the list the feature gets and the more discussion the responsible product managers have about the feature. Thus, more requests to allow HomeKit software bridges equals higher chance of notice by the PMs.

If Apple's decision to sidestep a software bridge.... (shunning the die hard MAC automation folks to pander to the masses) bothers you too....

Add to my thread at Apple.... or start your own grievance there..... either way.... let the weenies in cupertino know how you feel.
