[ANSWERED]User/device Restrictions possible?

The scenario: Wanting to give someone only limited access to our home automation control - would possibly even build them a custom control page.

The question: How?

I would like to give them access to things like lights and music, but not opening the garage door and other security related actions - is this currently possible on a device-by-device level? Thanks for any suggestions!

Re: User/device Restrictions possible?

That isn't currently possible, although it is definitely on our feature request list.

A possible workaround would be to run Apache and use .htaccess files that would reverse proxy into the Indigo Web server. So the .htaccess files could be setup with arbitrary users/permissions and the user would indirectly be accessing Indigo from those URLs instead.

That's way above my pay-grade!

Glad to know it's on the wish list though, as always keep up the great work you two!

Re: User/device Restrictions possible?

Depending on the computer savvy-ness of your user, could you just create a custom web control page for them? Set up a bookmark in their browser that points to that particular page and populate it with only the controls you want them to be able to use.

Running Indigo 2023.2 on a 24" iMac M1), OS X 14.4

I did consider this too, perhaps I can set the app up on the control page I want them to use and they will never think to look for our main one :p Thanks!

Hi Mont,

We are working on a major release to Indigo Touch. However, which features will be in the release has not been determined yet, nor do we have an ETA.

If you could support all the features requested, AND have it ready by tomorrow.. that'd be great! Also feel free to release Indigo 7 then too with native support for Zigbee, LWRF, and all those other fancy protocols that are so popular in europe. (Oh and make the update free.. can't have you being rewarded for your hard work)

Computer says no.
