Full Background Weather Images

Post by RogueProeliator »

Does anyone have any good, full-screen sized weather images that would match varying conditions from a weather plugin (want to use with the Fantastic Weather program, but any will do as I can rename them easily enough). Hoping to have a background image (well, just an image, but behind all other elements) that changes for sunny, cloudy, rainy, night clear, etc.

I can find some random individual pictures, but nothing that feels cohesive... though I would reach out and see if anyone had already put together a set that they would be willing to showcase and share.

Thanks!

If you want any of these just let me know.... some are SVG, some are PNG and some are in affinity designer format...

I tried doing this a while back and gave up because I couldn't find photos of the various conditions that looked "right". I thought about just pointing a cheap camera outside and using that image as a background, but my yard/neighbors/view isn't what I'd describe as visually pleasing so I scrapped that idea as well.. One of the weather websites had a "desktop" view at one time that was what you're looking for, I should have grabbed those images from the website, but didn't and now can't find it.

That's pretty much where I am at... I mean, I can find all the conditions but they don't look right together; wrong perspective or shading (enough that adjustment is not easily accomplished), etc. May have to end up scrapping the idea in the end, but not giving up yet.

Hard to understand what you want to do or what orientation your screen is. All the stuff I have is in vector format so it ca be made any size, put on any layer and set to any amount of opacity and color. Happy to help if you are interested - least I can do for the great plug-in you have made! Example below...

I love those. I would like to add those to my collection. I haven't decided on a set of weather images yet, but I also found a lot of images on deviant art. https://www.deviantart.com/popular-all- ... s&offset=0

I found that by having a set of high resolution weather images coupled with the IWS Plugin, "Dynamic Refreshing Image URL" gives me an option of re-sizing my weather icon from the control page (versus creating another 281 new resized images to fit the new page I'm working on).

Dynamic Refreshing Image Instructions:
viewtopic.php?f=134&t=18729#p142153

What I did:
viewtopic.php?f=134&t=18729&start=75

Right now I have it triggering off a change in outside temperature (I couldn't find a trigger for a change in the icon.... but I figure if it went from sunny to cloudy, it probably got cooler outside). I guess I could also just put in on a schedule to fire once-per-hour.

Either way, now I can use the same set of icons for a small or a large control page image.
