Re: Control Page Template

What do the green/red dot controls do in the navigation area -- turn on the lights on/off for that "zone"?

Exactly right. It's just a quick feature to allow quick "whole floor" access without navigating to that page. I have also added actions in the main portion of each zone to turn off the other inside zones -- useful if you know the whole family is in one room, for example.

It's actually quite easy. You have to use the "Device State" component type. Here's your walk through, since you already have the + and - working, we'll skip that.

1. Click New in the Control Page editor, make sure the Display says "Device State"

2. Make sure the proper device is selected

3. Change the Caption text to "%"

4. Make sure the Caption Position says "Right of Control"

5. Adjust the box sizes to your liking, I wanted the text "100" to fit perfectly in the box, so I turned the light on all the way, clicked Browser Preview, and moved the size control widget (bottom left of the blue box around your new "Device State" item) until it the text looked correct in the Browser Preview.

6. And you are done...

Indigo + iPhone Vision...

This is a 320x480, 160ppi Photoshop Image that idealy will ne used as a control page in Indigo for when the iPhone come out.

The idea is to have a Main First Page with --> Home, Remotes, Music and "Somethins Else" on the bottom.

This image is the Home sub-page selected.

Hope u all like it....!

PS: It was done with a tutorial in Tutorial 2.0....do a search on iPhone. Maybe we can create a place to put new buttons for the Indigo iPhone Interface!

Here's the 1.0 version:

Interface borrowed from Mail.
The status bar at the bottom shows what's on the SLIMP3 display.
Webcam picture isn't that good because it's dark outside and I'm using a not so fancy camera for that.

I like it! That interface is nice and clean.
It would be nice to have a download gallery for some of these page constructor elements.

What do you think about adding them to the AutomationWiki? You can upload images, and put in examples uses - describe your setup, etc.

Less maintenance for PA that way.

Macpro, very nice - what software are you using to pull in your camera image?

The camera is a Sitecom WL-400 which has it's own built-in webserver.
But you can also use EvoCam or SecuritySpy. Both recognize the Sitecom out of the box.

ah ok, does it take a pic all the time i.e when your in the house or can you set it to only post a pic when you set the alarm? I have an X10 alarm would be cool to include this but I would only want pics for the time the alarm is set.

It can take pictures at a set interval, but it has no motion detection.
If you want that, you'll have to use one of the applications I mentioned above. The Sitecom camera comes with Windows only software :(

It is also possible to stream video in a webpage so you can see what really is happening.

As the camera is fully configurable via it's built-in webserver, it should be easy to let Indigo send some pre-configured URL's to it. For instance to enable/disable taking pictures when motion is detected using a X10 motion detector or some other device.

Using Evocam you can stream video to a website. However, there are usually problems then trying to stream this outside your network (say, over Prism or SSH tunnel). But may be doable, just needs some configuration attention.
